Sophia, please introduce yourself.

Hi! My name is Sophia Romero, but most people call me Soy. My roots are half Irish, and half Caribbean, but I grew up in Indonesia. This gave me a beautifully multicultural perspective from the very start. I’ve always been drawn to experiences that energise me, whether it’s exploring something new, traveling, or immersing myself in a creative space. Modeling felt like a natural extension of that curiosity, giving me the freedom to express different sides of myself, collaborate with diverse teams, and contribute to meaningful visual storytelling.

What does being confident mean to you?

To me, confidence isn’t loud. It’s a quiet, steady comfort in your own skin, in your quirks, in all the little things that make you you. Confidence is showing up without needing to shrink or perform. It isn't solely about appearance, it's deeply rooted in how you feel, how you carry yourself, how you speak your truth, and how deeply you trust your intuition. I think the most confident people are the ones who are authentically themselves in any and every situation they’re placed.

If we were to spend a weekend with you, what would we do, eat, and listen to?

We’d start with a slow morning, coffee and some kind of purposeful movement. Pilates is my current favorite. As for the rest of the day, I’m a spontaneous girlie, so plans are often last minute and a surprise even to me. If the sun’s out, I’m definitely headed to the beach, basking under the Bali sun and swimming in the ocean. If it’s a rainy day, I love a cozy creative session. Pottery has been a recent obsession of mine.

What makes you feel most like yourself?

I feel most like myself when I’m in nature, especially by the ocean, engaging in some form of thrilling extreme sport, or when I’m traveling and exploring new cultures. There’s something about seeing the world that sparks a childlike excitement in me. In those moments, when everything feels new and full of wonder, I think I’m the most me.

What do you turn to when you need to reset?

I try to pause and be fully present. Whether it’s through deep breath or simply taking notice of the world around me, the aim is to ground myseld in mindfulness and create space to just be. Journaling has been my go-to for quite some time and has been an excellent source of clarity when I need to reset. I also love indulging in a full self-care day, whether that’s skincare, a good massage, a fresh manicure, my favorite meal, or a cheeky shopping spree. Really, anything that feels like an act of love and kindness toward myself.
